If a guy squats down to talk to you, could that mean something?

WOW! I would say that it most definitely had some meaning!!! For a guy to make sure that he is "at your level" - to ME it is a sign of being respectful while also interested. And you said that he asked a question that he knew the answer to - that is also a BIG thing. Most guys (believe it or not) are TERRIFIED of being rejected. So, he probably did the only thing he could think of to "test the waters". He also asked a question that he probably knew that YOU knew HE knew the answer to - hoping that it would spark some curiosity on your part and knowing that he couldn't be "rejected" with such a question. Now that he has braved the waters (and hopefully you gave a good signal) maybe he won't be so afraid to talk to you next time. If you would like to - you could always take the initiative and talk to him next time. Ask for his email address or phone number. If he asks why, just tell him that you wanted to talk about something regarding school, or that you have something funny to share with him but you don't want to get into it at school. Then if you can email him - let him know that you would be interested in hanging out sometime. In any case, I think you are on the right track - and it was a good sign. Good luck and take care.
