Achilles Tendon:Rupture or Soreness?
I hurt my achilles tendon about four weeks ago when undergoing major Tae Kwon Do training with ankle weights. Since the weekend it first began hurting, I have stopped the weights, iced the area, and attempted to self cast the injury with no success. I am hoping to go to the National Qualifier for Tae Kwon Do in late March and need to heal quickly. I am confused with what I have, as I can walk easily, and sometimes run, but at other times I have trouble even standing. I am going to take the next two weeks completely off, with no physical activity that deals with my right(injured) foot, and will be walking with crutches. Is this the right thing to do? Does anyone know what problem I have or what more to do? Should I be healed in time? Thank you for any information.
