Where do satans demons/genies come from? And how are they developed?

long ago there was a super race of trolls, they made a machine that created wonderful and disturbing things, those things changed over time, some turned into religions, others turned in to politicians, but most turned into bad ideas. Humans were trolled from the beginning.
